Area of application:
Used for removing cement after cementation of crowns, bridges, onlays or veneers. Used for finishing and polishing interproximal fillings and for removing excess filling material. For dental hygienists to enable removal of discoloration that cannot be accessed with their instruments. In interproximal reposition (IPR) used for reducing interproximal enamel during orthodontic procedures.
Application:
Hold the handle with the company name facing up (1) and attach the strip holder, with the strip facing down, to the tip of the handle (2) and lock into position (3). The strip holder has a mark on the diamond-coated side (6). The swivel-mounted holders can each be locked in 4 positions (4). This ensures that the optimum working position (angle) of the diamond strip is fixed to enable easy access to the anterior and posterior teeth in the oral cavity. Check that the holder is fitted securely before each use. The strip holder can be used with or without the handle. If the strip is used without the handle, it must be secured with a safety chain to protect against aspiration. Hold the strip between the thumb and index or middle finger (5).
Diamond strips:
Insert the strip interdentally using a sawing movement. Face the diamond-coated side towards the filling to be prepared. Move the diamond-coated section over the filling in a grinding movement to remove the excess and adapt the filling anatomically. The strips should be used in descending sequence from medium to super fine grit size.
Serrated edge:
The serrated edge (7) is used for interdental separation. Once the interproximal has been separated by the serrated edge, replace the strip with a diamond-coated strip and proceed as described above. This avoids injuring the papillae.
